Disability Resources

Accepting the Gift is a resource compiled by Kelly Mantoan "designed to empower each family in their mission as parents and caregivers" to their loved ones with disabilities.


The National Catholic Partnership on Disability works with dioceses, parishes, ministers, and laity to promote the full and meaningful participation of persons with disabilities in the life of the Church.

The Jerome Lejeune Foundation serves persons with Down Syndrome through research, care, and advocacy, drawing inspiration from Venerable Jerome Lejeune.

The Xavier Society for the Blind seeks "to provide the Word of God, and the best of Roman Catholic teaching and literature, spiritual, and inspirational material to blind or visually impaired persons."

"The National Catholic Office for the Deaf is a non-profit membership organization dedicated to pastoral ministry with deaf and hard of hearing persons."

In the Diocese of Nashville, St. Henry parish offers an ASL interpreter every Sunday at the 7:30 a.m. Mass.

The YouCat in American Sign Language from the Archdiocese of Kansas City.

Grief Support

Good Mourning Ministry is a grief support ministry which includes a video series, Grieving with Great Hope, featured on FORMED.

Red Bird Ministries is a grief support ministry specifically focussed on supporting parents who have lost a child at any age.

When A Loved One Dies By Suicide is a film series for grief support created by and for individuals who have experienced suicide loss.

Remember is a new initiative within RedBird Ministries that seeks to accompany those who are grieving a loss from suicide.

Many parishes in the Diocese of Nashville offer bereavement ministries for support around the time of a funeral. There are some that also offer grief support groups for ongoing healing. Please contact the following parishes to inquire about the schedule of their grief ministies:

Freedom From Pornography

Strive is a free 21 day program from Matt Fradd and Covenant Eyes for men who are seeking freedom from pornography. With practical and authentic content, Strive empowers men with the help they need and the community and accountability necessary to break free from addiction.

"Integrity Restored provides education, training, encouragement, and resources to break free from pornography, heal relationships, and to assist parents in preventing and responding to pornography exposure which is so devastating in the lives of our children."

RECLAIM is a research-based, anonymous, online recovery program developed at the request of Bishop David Ricken by a professional team with expertise in mental health, addiction recovery, neuroscience, and technology to help those struggling with pornography addiction reclaim their sexual health.

Magdala Ministries is "a space where women can find hope, healing, and freedom alongside each other from sexual addiction. Our goal is to supply you with support, community, and accountability."

Covenant Eyes provides real accountability to help you overcome pornography with the use of apps and people in your life that you trust.

Freedom Coaching integrates science, Catholic theology, and individual mentoring to help clients redeem their vision of the human body.

"Bloom for Catholic Women offers therapeutic and Catholic-based online courses for women healing from the trauma of discovering their husband's sexual and/or pornography addiction."

Navigate Betrayal is a Catholic online program offering support from caring professionals and women who know the pain of sexual betrayal.

Other Addictions, Abuse, and Recovery

"Catholic in Recovery is a nonprofit organization that seeks to serve those suffering from addictions and unhealthy attachments (including alcoholism, drug addiction, pornography addiction, sex and relationship addiction, compulsive overeating and food addictions, gambling addiction, codependency and the impact on family, and general fear, control, and anxiety)."

Made in His Image offers hope and healing to transform victims of eating disorders, depression, self-harm, or physical and/or sexual abuse into survivors.

Grief to Grace is a week-long program for anyone who has suffered physical, emotional, or spiritual abuse, whether in childhood, adolescence, or as an adult.

LGBTQ+/Same-Sex Attraction

"Courage members are men and women who experience same-sex attractions and who have made a commitment to strive for chastity."

"Encourage members are parents, spouses, siblings, and friends of people who identify as LGBTQ. They are looking for help to keep the faith and keep their family bonds intact."

Eden Invitation is a resource "creating space to receive the whole person, grow systems of mutual support, and empower for creative discipleship."

Overcome is a ministry began by Kim Zember serving as "an outlet of love and hope for adults with same-sex attraction."

"The Person and Identity Project offers formation, workshops, and pastoral guidance on transgender issues and the human person."
